Bergama

Firstly, I'm sorry for not writing last week, there were some personal things. We canceled the Halloween Party but we think we can postpone it to February. It will not be on Halloween, but we worked so much on the party preparations and everyone was so enthusiastic about the party, so we decided that the date does not matter that much, it's a party with close friends and that's what matters. What I'm trying to say don't be surprised when you see a Halloween Party post on February. I will try to write and post regularly from now on.

Geçen hafta yazmadıgım için üzgünüm, kisisel bir problemlerden ötürü yazamadım. Cadılar Bayramı Partisini iptal ettik ve Subat ayına ertelemeyi düsünüyoruz. Cadılar Bayramı'nda olmayacak ama parti hazırlıkları için çok ugrastık ve herkes parti için çok hevesliydi; bu yüzden tarihin çok önemli olmadıgını düsündük ve önemli olanın yakın arkadaslarla birlikte eglenmek olduguna karar verdik. Demeye çalıstıgım, Subat ayında Cadılar Bayramı Partisi postu görürseniz sasırmayın. Bundan sonra düzenli olarak paylasım yapmaya calısacagım.

Adjustment period for the new university was rough and I don't think I got used to it yet. However I think from now on it will be a little bit easier. As you know I'm studying architecture, and for design studio(which is our major class) we submit projects. Because we started late to the university(my university was closed and till I am placed to a new university, the university was already started.), we dived into middle of the project. Now, we will start a new project and I think because we'll start from the beginning of the project, it will be easier.

Yeni üniversiteye alısma süreci zordu ve hala daha tam olarak alısabildigimi düsünmüyorum, ama bundan sonra daha kolay olacagını düsünüyorum. Bidiginiz üzere mimarlık okuyorum ve tasarım stüdyosunda(en önemli ve en yüksek kredili derslerden birisi) proje teslim ediyoruz. Üniversiteye geç basladıgımız için(üniversitem kapanmıstı ve yeni üniversiteye yerlestirildigimde üniversite çoktan baslamıstı.), projenin ortasına daldık. Simdi, yeni projeye baslayacagız ve projenin basında oldugumuz için daha kolay olacagını düsünüyorum.

For the next project we will design a school, and we should find a sloped area. We decided to go to Bergama, which has a great historic background and appropriate for the project. It is actually pointless trying to explain how beautiful and full of histrory Bergama is. I strongly suggest you to have a visit if you have a chance and see how beautiful it is, for yourself. Even from the pictures, Bergama tells a lot.

Bir sonraki proje icin, bir okul tasarlayacagız ve bunun için egimli bir arazi bulmamız lazım. Arazi için Bergama'ya gitmeye karar verdik. Bergama harika bir tarihi geçmisi olan bir yer ve proje için de çok uygun. Size Bergama'nın ne kadar güzel ve tarihle dolu bir yer oldugunu anlatmaya çalısmanın çok anlamı yok. Eger sansınız olursa Bergama'yı gidip görmenizi fazlasıyla tavsiye ediyorum. Fotograflarıy bile, Bergama çok fazla sey anlatıyor.

There are lots of beautiful masonary buildings. The detailing at the doors and windows is marvelous and the greenery is breathtaking. From the city planning to the every little detail was thought. Bergama is a city which can teach a lot about architecture.

Bir sürü güzel yıgma yapılar var. Kapı ve pencerelerin detayları olaganüstü ve yesillik nefes kesici. Sehir planlamasından, en küçük detaya kadar düsülmüs. Bergama, mimarlık hakkında çok fazla sey ögretebilecek bir ilce.

The only issue was how people treated these historic texture. Some of the buildings were really in bad shape. This history needs to be protected. Of course there are buildings that are in good shape and protected, but in a city which is historically and architecturally important like this, at least most of the buildings should be in a good shape.

Tek problem, insanların bu tarihi dokuya davranıs sekilleri. Bazı binalar gerçekten kötü durumda. Bu tarihin korunmaya ihtiyacı var. Tabii ki korunmus ve iyi durumda olan binalar da vardı, ama tarihsel ve mimari açıdan bu kadar önemli olan bir yerde en azından cogu yapının korunması ve iyi durumda olması gerekiyor.
